Be careful coming to the Klamath Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. There is a glorious hiking trail in the neighborhood of Deep Lake called the Garden Gulch Trail, and Muse Meadow is right here at Deep Lake. High temperatures at Deep Lake through the days of summer are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Deep
Lake are in the 30's. Going for a hike on the Deacon Lee Trail is always a good adventure; if you came to camp Indian Scotty Campground is a tremendous location to do that.
There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Scott River, and the Marble Mountains is a major highlight of the neighborhood nearby. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River, and if

you've had enough of Deep Lake, Chinquapin Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn & Suites Yreka.
Deep Lake is one of the lakes here in the Klamath Mountains. Deep Lake gets much water; the month with most of the rain is December while July is mostly the driest month. That right there is heaps of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Klamath Mountains has it all. One of the principal traits of the surroundings of Deep Lake is Boulder Peak, and you're most likely into lakes, Buckhorn Lake is one of those nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. On a nice day at Deep Lake you can take a hike along the Tanners Peak Trail. There's so much to do here at Deep Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Spring Flat Campground is a brilliant site for that.

I WALKED FROM MAIN ROAD TO TRAILHEAD ON 4-22-09. HEAVY SNOW DRIFTS, TRAILHEAD IS UNDER ABOUT 48'' OF FROZEN SNOW. NOT RECOMMENDED TO HIKE ALONE, YOU WILL SINK A DOZEN TIMES OR SO UP TO YOUR WAIST! I CHICKENED OT ABOUT 1/2 WAY UP THE TRAIL I COULDN'T SEE UNDERNEATH THE SNOW AND BOULDERS. I BET THE FISHING IS RIGHT ON!...

Looking for a place called Coffee Creek Resort in the mid-70's.   Had a lodge and A-frame cabins, you could hike a trail up to Lake Josephine from the lodge.  Hoping it is still around now that we are back in California....

Nice Lake. Nobody should be allowed to own such a thing. Didn't stop me though!...
