And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining things to do in the San Bernardino Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Simmons Trout Lake is in the vicinity, and Bear Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby. At Deadmans Lake you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain; the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Baldwin Lake,
and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Fish Creek Trail.

A round of golf at nearby Big Bear Mountain Golf Course is a magnificent way to kill some time, and if you're dropping by from Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, you won't be the only one. Stay the night at Mission Springs Campground, and going for a hike on the South Fork Trail

This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail near Deadmans Lake called the Pacific Crest Trail - section 5, and why not head up to Snow Summit and strap some skis to your feet. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. The San Bernardino Mountains scenery is always beautiful.

We were going to visit Big Bear, from Texas, in May. Is the lake still there and what is it called now?...I now own what was once called Simmons Trout Lake,  how can i contact one of the Simmons family?...
