A pleasant place to go to next to Deadhorse Reservoir is Sheep Valley, and Hotel Mt. Lassen is a perfect place to get some rest. At Deadhorse Reservoir throughout the warm months highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Deadhorse Reservoir are in the 10's. Man, is there plenty       of cool things to do in the Southern Cascade Range. Spaulding Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and Deadhorse Reservoir is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Prison Spring Campground is a pleasant location to camp nearby. Do take a look at Little Coyote Reservoir in the neighborhood of Deadhorse Reservoir, it's a scenic lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Deadhorse Reservoir has to offer, you can camp                  at Little Antelope Campground, and if the weather is pretty, you get a pleasant panorama of Indian Mountain from Deadhorse Reservoir. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range.
