A good view of pretty Mount Davis is available from Davis Lakes. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. After a long day outdoors Mammoth Mountain Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two; you're perhaps interested in lakes, Lake Catherine is one of those nearby. A fine close by hotel is Heidelberg Inn, and you can go for a hike on the Gaylor Lakes Trail. High temperatures at Davis Lakes during the summer months are in the 90's.

great whitewater paddling spot nearby; camping is available at Trailer Park Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork, and great
hiking is available along the Mammoth Rock Trail. Davis Lakes gets a typical amount of precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is when it's the driest. All the outdoors exciting things
in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back time and again. Looking for something close to Davis Lakes? Rodgers Lakes is in the vicinity; going for a hike on the John Muir Trail - section 2 is always a great adventure.
This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Grant Lake Marina-campground is a delightful location to camp, and the skiing at June Mountain is perfect.
