Bear Twin Lakes
11 miles away
Great place to visit! A must see for all families and tourists! The awe and marvel at the beauty of the lake is indescribable! My family had an awsome experience and Joey, Anisa, and Diana ( my children) all would love to go back!  Bear Twin Lakes is not a place to miss! Just watch out for the occasional black bear!...

Jackass's Meadows Campground
11 miles away
I've been to the campground and it is a great area; however, it is NOT an arid environment as the description says.? It is located at over 7000 feet in a forested area.? In addition, there is NO access to Devils Postpile (or the Mammoth area, as is implied by the lodging links). The campground is located at the end of the road and there is no road pass over the Sierra anywhere in this area. This campground is seasonal and is snowed in completely in the winter. ...

North Lake Campground

I have never seen it in the 90's in summer (way to high for those temps), and I am sure it is a heck of lot colder than 50's in the winter...

Sabrina Campground
15 miles away
I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories....

Rainbow Lake
17 miles away
Rainbow lake, as well as numerous other lakes in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness Area are well worth the moderate effort it takes to visit. Rainbow lake itself is cupped between a low granite ridge and a steeper, curving granite wall. It is a beautifully clear lake populated with large numbers of rainbow trout which I assume gave it the name. Information, registration, and restrictions can all be obtained at the Ranger station located in the town of Prather. We camp at this lake at least twice a year, and it is always one of my favorites....

Big Trees Campground
18 miles away
The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up....
