This lake is so wonderful. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Davis Lake. Don’t forget to stop at Evolution Basin since you're here at Davis Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Kings River - Middle Fork. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. Davis Lake is a location that is rather dry generally; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is June. Now, you may assume that's

Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Martha Lake in close proximity to Davis Lake; why not camp at North Lake Campground while you're here at Davis Lake. While you're here at Davis Lake you can take a hike along the Don Cecil Trail; if you come at the right time of year, San Joaquin River - South Fork offers some great whitewater. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff | |

in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada rules! Have a good hiking adventure along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section, and if you're looking for a splendid spree, Devils Postpile National Monument is quite near. There are
other spots here than Davis Lake, for example McGee Lake, and Sabrina Campground is a magnificent local campground. Through the days of summer at Davis Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. For
the period of the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Davis Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Kings River Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and at Davis Lake you can catch a sight of Mount Goddard.

North Lake Campground
I have never seen it in the 90's in summer (way to high for those temps), and I am sure it is a heck of lot colder than 50's in the winter...
Sabrina Campground
I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories....
Big Trees Campground
12 miles away The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up....

Bear Twin Lakes
16 miles away Great place to visit! A must see for all families and tourists! The awe and marvel at the beauty of the lake is indescribable! My family had an awsome experience and Joey, Anisa, and Diana ( my children) all would love to go back! Bear Twin Lakes is not a place to miss! Just watch out for the occasional black bear!...
Jackass's Meadows Campground
18 miles away I've been to the campground and it is a great area; however, it is NOT an arid environment as the description says.? It is located at over 7000 feet in a forested area.? In addition, there is NO access to Devils Postpile (or the Mammoth area, as is implied by the lodging links). The campground is located at the end of the road and there is no road pass over the Sierra anywhere in this area. This campground is seasonal and is snowed in completely in the winter. ...
