The beauty of Dark Lake is reason enough to stop by. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Throughout the warm months, highs generally are in the 70's at Dark Lake with nighttime lows in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Dark Lake. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Sierra at Tahoe is near Dark Lake, and Dark Lake is a glorious spot to camp, Thirty-nine Mile Campground is a glorious

All year is a glorious time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you adore the outdoors. Near Dark Lake you come across the Red Peak Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and you can run the rapids of American
River - South Fork. Having a good time at Dark Lake is painless. Going for a hike on the Highland Trail is always a great adventure, and camping at Dark Lake is wonderful fun, Eagle Rock Campground is a wonderful local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. A great site for whitewater paddling close to Dark Lake is Silver Creek - South Fork.
An average amount of rainfall falls at Dark Lake; most of the snow falls through January, and July is the month with the least moisture.
