Throughout the warm months here at Dark Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's; the night is slightly cooler of course, usually in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Dark Lake are in the 10's. Yep, outdoors amusing things truly is abundant here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Silver       Creek - South Fork, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Homewood. All the outdoors amusing things close to Dark Lake will keep you coming back over and over. If you came for an overnight stay Eagle Rock Campground is a good location to camp, and Sierra at Tahoe is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Fourth of July Flat is a fine place to check out,                  and Thirty-nine Mile Campground is a glorious local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Beauty Lake, and there's nice hiking along the Highland Trail. Dark Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Go for a hike on the Windmiller Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit American River - South Fork. Not far from Dark Lake, you'll find Wrights Lake which is a striking lake, and good hiking is available along the Red Peak Trail. An average amount of rain falls at Dark Lake; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
