This is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes. Elbert Lake is a lake in the neighborhood; Big Meadow is a stunning spot any time of year. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork is so much fun. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Dardanelles Lake mostly gets a large       amount of rain; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Camping is available at Firs Campground, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Hawley Grade Trail. This spot, the Northern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors cool stuff. Nearby lakes? Sure, Four Lakes is right next door to Dardanelles Lake, and an afternoon playing golf at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course is always a pleasure. This lake is so                  wonderful. Camping at Alpine Campground is always a good experience. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Sierra at Tahoe has delightful slopes and a friendly staff, and Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a delightful location to get some rest. Through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Dardanelles Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
