This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Lassen Volcanic National Park is a national park worth stopping at, and nearby you stumble on the Hanna Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Best Western Rose Quartz Inn is a great location to get some rest, and you must absolutely dedicate some time to Bumpass Hell since you're here at Crumbaugh Lake. 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are generally in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Crumbaugh Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Southern Cascade Range. Put some
time aside to spend at Bumpass Hot Springs while you're here at Crumbaugh Lake, and while you're here, you might as well go to Little Hot Springs Valley. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous nearby hotel is Bailey Creek Cottages;
if the weather is lovely, you get a tremendous panorama of Bumpass Mountain from Crumbaugh Lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Crumbaugh Lake a wet site; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most
snow; the driest month is July. The Southern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. Bluff Falls Campground is a perfect local campground, and if you've had enough of Crumbaugh Lake, Cold Boiling Lake is nearby.

Hole in the Ground Campground
 | 3 PHOTOS I ALSO HAVE GONE CAMPING AT HOLE IN THE GROUND SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL I WOULDNT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY I LOVE IT THERE AND NOW SO DO MY KIDS.... I've been going to hole in the ground, off and on for 40 years. From when I was a kid hiking in the forest, tubing down the creek, swimming in the pools, and fishing for planted trout that the hatchery would toss in the creek. Now it is a restricted salmon run, there is no planters and restrictions on the type of tackle you can use. The fishing was great as a kid. I like how peaceful it is, with the sound of creek and an occasional bluejay chirping. I enjoy cooking on the wood stoves. There are only a hand full left, (what a shame). I will be meeting one of my brothers and dad at the hole in three weeks. My large family with foster children love going to the hole. Some have been before and some will experience it for the first time. **lot of good memories**... |
Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail
 | Twin Meadows was originally named White Meadows and our old family cabin is the one between the meadows. They ran cattle with T.A.Spencer the first pres. of the Tehama Co. Cattleman's Assoc. The forming of the first association was in response to the loss of grazing rights when the park was formed. The shortage of beef during WW1 prompted Woodrow Wilson to state that if necessary they would raise sheep on the lawn of the White House. ... |

Potato Patch Campground
 | 13 miles away We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything. ... |
Rancheria RV Park
 | 15 miles away 6 PHOTOS RV camping... Cabins... Mountain View... Laundry Room... Creek... Nearby Burney Falls... ...s away.
A 4 1/2 star golf course is about 30 minutes in Fall River Mills. The north entrance of Lassen National Park is a short 20 minute drive and Subway Cave, a volcanic formed tube , is a 5 minute drive. Another attraction to this area is the Thousand Lake Wilderness area, hiking and beautiful scenery are part of the experience in this remote wilderness area. If you aren't up to all these activities you can just relax here in the park, watching the ducks in the lake and the fish jumping or fish for our trophy rainbow trout with barbless flies or barbless single hook spinners. Our lake Catherine is catch and release only.
All of our RV sites are full hookups, which include water, sewer, electric, cable and 2 hours of free wi-fi. We have a rec-hall for our guests to gather for groups or family gatherings. There is a nice area that has picnic tables for gatherings with a large BBQ for our guests to use. Our bathhouse has large showers and stalls, there is a laundry faclilty for the guests convience. A full running restaurant that is open year round from 9am to 7pm. T... |
