Not far from Crooked Lakes, you'll stumble on Long Lake which is a scenic lake, and do go to South Fork Canyon Creek while you're here at Crooked Lakes. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Crooked Lakes is right by the Round Lake Trail,       and camping at Grouse Ridge Campground is always a perfect experience. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you come at the right time of year, Yuba River - South Fork offers some pleasant whitewater; do take a hike on the Bowman Mountain Trail. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Crooked Lakes has it all. Lakes are wonderful; Penner Lake is a lake that's near Crooked Lakes, and Soda Springs is a wonderful local                  ski area. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Crooked Lakes, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are frequently in the 40's, and night lows at Crooked Lakes through the wintertime mostly plunge into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. People from Truckee-Grass Valley love to come to Crooked Lakes, and camping is available at Carr-Feeley Campground. Dry warm beds await you at Deer Creek Inn. So much amusing stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Crooked Lakes Trail, and Bowman Mountain is scenic and can be distinguished from here.
