    The beauty of Crater Lake is reason enough to stop by. All through the summer at Crater Lake highs are frequently in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. All through the winter highs are generally in the 30's while Crater Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Crater Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Blue Lake Campground is a magnificent local  
   campground, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Hawley Grade Trail. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Kirkwood; you could always look at Carson Pass.
A large amount of precipitation falls at Crater Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow while July is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               Paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork is so much fun, and the Charity Valley Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. Get soaked paddling on Carson River - East Fork, and at Crater Lake you always meet someone from Gardnerville Ranchos.
Having a glorious time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is painless. Do take a look at Red Lake close to Crater Lake, it's a picturesque lake, and on a wonderful day you get a good sight of Red Lake Peak from Crater Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the vicinity of Crater Lake. If you came to camp Woods Lake Campground is a good location to do that; Royal Inn is a fine place to get some rest. Kit Carson is an attention-grabbing thing to catch a glimpse of while you're here at Crater Lake; if you need a spot to stay Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a wonderful choice.
Sierra at Tahoe has great slopes and a friendly staff; there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Burnside Lake Trail. What a location this is for outdoors people. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
