In California there are many beautiful lakes, Coyote Lake is one of them. So many amusing things in the Central Sierra Nevada, just striking. There's wonderful hiking along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section, and Funnel Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Coyote Lake without first going for a hike along the Kings River Trail.

| | There's so much to do here at Coyote Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Willow Campground is a fine location for that. All through the summertime months highs here at Coyote Lake reach the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's while Coyote Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to | |

do in the vicinity of Coyote Lake. The views at Devils Postpile National Monument will blow your mind, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Bishop. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. It is very arid
here at Coyote Lake regularly; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June. From Coyote Lake you get a great sight of The Hunchback, and if you need a place to stay Bishop-Days Inn is a splendid choice.
While you're here at Coyote Lake, you could also stop by lovely Rocky Bottom Lake, and if you came to camp Aspen Meadow Campground is a pleasant spot to do that.

Big Trees Campground
 | The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up.... |
Sabrina Campground
 | I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |
