    In California there are many beautiful lakes, Cooney Lake is one of them. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do near Cooney Lake. Cooney Lake is right by the John Muir Trail - section 2, and since you're here, you could also check out striking Blue Lake. Through the months of summer highs here at Cooney Lake get into the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's,  
   and night lows in the 0's for Cooney Lake. Cooney Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada.
There's so much to do here at Cooney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sawmill Campground is a pleasant place for that, and Black Mountain is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Cooney Lake. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cooney Lake; Gaylor Lakes Trail is
 
               a pleasant local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Saddlebag Campground, and Yosemite Gateway Motel is a delightful location to get some rest.
The Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 offers hiking at its best, and do pop by Frog Lakes, it's a charming lake. Having a good time in the Central Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated. After a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a magnificent location to spend a night or two; get covered with water paddling on Tenaya Creek. Cooney Lake is ordinarily a relatively dry location; the month with most of the snow is January, and October is the month with the least moisture.
