Summertime at Cook Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are usually in the 60's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Cook Reservoir temperatures sink to the 40's. A good beach near Cook Reservoir is Poche Beach; you can go for a hike on the Clark Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Beaches       are fine; and Coast Royale Beach in the neighborhood of Cook Reservoir is no exception; close by you come across the Morrow Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. Cook Reservoir gets very little precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. That right there is lots already, but it carries on; Cook Reservoir has it all. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Capistrano Inn is a                  nice choice, and Cook Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, San Clemente State Beach is a great local campground. Going for a hike on the San Juan Trail is always a good adventure, and hey, Horno Creek is a great local stream. This is a popular place for people from Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana, and nearby you find brilliant places like Deep Canyon. This lake is so wonderful. Near Cook Reservoir you find a golf course called Marbella Golf and Country Club, and a brilliant place to camp here at Cook Reservoir is Flying B Ranch.
