All our national parks are glorious sites to have a look at, and Devils Postpile National Monument is no exception; if you come at the right time of year, San Joaquin River - South Fork offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Bright Dot Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and camping at Lake Crowley Campground is always a fine experience. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just       come on down to Convict Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Mammoth Creek Inn; on a beautiful day you acquire a splendid vista of Mono Jim Peak from Convict Lake. High temperatures at Convict Lake through the summer are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Convict Lake are in the 20's. Be careful coming to Convict Lake, you might not ever want to                  return back home again. Don't leave Convict Lake without first checking out Sevehah Cliff, and glorious skiing awaits you at Mammoth Mountain. So much exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada, just amazing. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mono Creek, and playing golf is lots of fun at Snowcreek Golf Course. If you need a place to stay Chateau de Montagne is a pleasant choice, and do take a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail. Around Convict Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is June. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Central Sierra Nevada. Convict Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Upper McGee Creek Campground is a nice local campground, and June Mountain has good slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Convict Lake, you could also check out nearby Lake Genevieve, and Convict Lake is right by the Sherwin Lakes Trail.
