The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Consultation Lake. After a long day outdoors Best Western Frontier Motel is a nice location to spend a night or two. This lake is located in the wonderful Southern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Tuttle Creek Campground;       there are nice sites to discover along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11. You get a great vista of Mount Carillon from Consultation Lake, and at Consultation Lake you always meet someone from Bishop. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Southern Sierra Nevada. Why not camp at Symmes Creek Campground if you're here at Consultation Lake, and Consultation Lake is not the only place nearby, Mirror Lake is a nearby lake. But wait, there's more cool things                  to do in the Southern Sierra Nevada. You need to explore Keeler Needle if you're here at Consultation Lake, and if you've had enough of Consultation Lake, Frog Pond is nearby. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Bighorn Park is a good spot to stretch your legs a bit, and a tremendous spot nearby is Arc Pass. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kern River, and the governing mark in the vicinity is the Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Mount Whitney Trail is always a nice adventure, and Comfort Inn Lone Pine is a brilliant place to get some rest.
