Sandy Campground is a brilliant local campground, and glorious hiking is available along the Bunchgrass Trail. So much exciting stuff in the Southern Cascade Range, just mind-blowing. Why not camp at Rocky Campground while you're here at Cone Reservoir, and there's magnificent hiking along the Chaos Crags Trail. Around Cone Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; during       the month of January you get the most rain around here; the driest month is July. You can run the rapids of Pit River in the vicinity of Cone Reservoir. Lakes? Sure, Porcupine Reservoir is close by. The warmest time of the year at Cone Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's while Cone Reservoir overnight low temperatures                  during the winter are in the 20's. And that's not all the things to do here in the Southern Cascade Range. Having a perfect time at Cone Reservoir is painless.
