A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Colt Lake; throughout January this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. The warmest time of the year at Colt Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Colt Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. So much       amusing stuff to do here at Colt Lake, too good to be true. Bench Valley is a great spot to explore close by. There's so much to do here at Colt Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lower Blayney Campground is a great spot for that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Head up to Sierra Summit and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Don Cecil Trail. Lakes are splendid;                  Bullet Lake is a lake that's right next door to Colt Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Colt Lake; John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section is a great local trail, and Blackcap Mountain is pretty and can be observed from here. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. A spree to Lightning Corral Meadow revives the spirit; in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kings River - Middle Fork.
