If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Devils Postpile National Monument is a perfect national park; don't leave Cirque Lake without first going for a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Cirque Lake. There are wonderful places to explore along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of San Joaquin River       - South Fork. A stunning lake like Apollo Lake near Cirque Lake is a good place to explore, and a tremendous location for whitewater paddling is Mono Creek. Around Cirque Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. This location, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors fun stuff. Hit the slopes at Mammoth Mountain close at hand, and if you need a                  spot to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Red Mountain Trail. Sierra Summit is a very popular ski area close by; you can stay the night at Lower Blayney Campground. The warmest time of the year at Cirque Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and the nighttime is a bit chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Cirque Lake through the wintertime regularly fall into the 20's. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful.
