Fernandez Pass is a nice place to spend some time at; do pay a visit to Yosemite National Park while you're here at Chittenden Lake. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Gale Lake is a good lake near Chittenden Lake, and if the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Half Dome Trail. The yearly precipitation here at Chittenden Lake is about average; the month of January is the wettest       with most of the rain while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hit the slopes at Badger Pass in the neighborhood. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Chittenden Lake reach the 90's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Chittenden Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is glorious                  on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork, and a magnificent sight of gorgeous Gale Peak is available. Lakes? Sure, Shirley Lake is in the vicinity, and going for a hike along the Mono Meadow Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Chittenden Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada.
