The Pigeon Roost Trail offers hiking at its best, and Chiquita Lake is not far at all from Truckee-Grass Valley. This lake is so wonderful. Camp Chiquita Campground is a magnificent local campground; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Oxbow Reservoir. Chiquita Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Kentucky Flat is a perfect spot to stretch your legs a bit. This lake is so wonderful.
