There's so much to do here at Chips Lake that you need to camp here for a while, James Lee Campground is a glorious site for that, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Rose Quartz Inn is a good choice.
But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Northern

Potato Patch Campground
17 miles away
We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything.
