Chimney Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. And if that's not enough there's loads more fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sheep Creek Trail, and here at Chimney Lake you can see Loper Peak. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Chimney Lake, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, ordinarily in the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily
in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Chimney Lake. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. You can run the rapids of Kings River in close proximity to Chimney Lake, and hiking along the Red Mountain Trail is brilliant fun.
This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Kings River - Middle Fork for all you adrenaline people; if you came to camp Voyager Rock Campground is a delightful site to do that. Put some time aside to spend at Indian Springs

since you're here at Chimney Lake, and do take a hike on the Don Cecil Trail. There's so much to do here at Chimney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lily Pad Campground is a pleasant place for that; places like Lower Box are glorious to pop by.
Chimney Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. The amount of rain that falls at Chimney Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Head up to Sierra Summit and strap some skis to your feet.
