The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. You simply should love Chilkoot Lake. Go for a hike on the Mono Meadow Trail, and Beasore Meadows Campground is a fine campground nearby. Summer at Chilkoot Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's; overnight lows at Chilkoot       Lake during the wintertime frequently sink into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Chilkoot Lake without first going for a hike along the Buena Vista Trail; what would winter be without some skiing at Badger Pass. The view of Little Shuteye Peak from Chilkoot Lake is scenic; if you need a site to stay Oakhurst Days Inn is a good choice. Chilkoot Lake gets a typical amount of annual rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's                  the one that rains the most while July is frequently the driest month. Going for a hike on the Chilnualna Fall Trail is always a delightful adventure; don't miss out on a trip to Yosemite National Park while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Iron Lakes, and Grizzly Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back over and over.
