     The beauty of Chief Lake attracts many people from all around. At Chief Lake you don’t see much rain; January is the wettest month with most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Paddling on Mono Creek is so much fun, and if you need a location to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a good choice. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a splendid time. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mammoth Mountain.  
   You'll need more than a day to look at everything Chief Lake has to offer, you can camp at Vermilion Campground.
The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great earth it would be. Chief Lake is right by the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and Horse Heaven is right here at Chief Lake. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back again and again.                dripping wet paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork; Goodale Pass is nearby, and is a great spot.
After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Sierra Nevada is a fine place to spend a night or two; the views at Devils Postpile National Monument will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to June Mountain and strap some skis to your feet; there are other sites here than Chief Lake, for example Brave Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Mammoth Rock Trail is pleasant fun; Chief Lake is a tremendous site to camp, Upper Vermillion Campground is a tremendous site. Through the summertime months here at Chief Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's with night lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Chief Lake.
