Go to Chewing Gum Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Chewing Gum Lake a wet location; through January this area sees the most snow, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Herring Creek Campground, and Lake Valley is a delightful site.

| | can hit the slopes at Bear Valley in the vicinity. Get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Cherry Creek - West Fork, and Dodge Ridge has delightful slopes and a friendly staff. Summertime highs at Chewing Gum Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 60's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Chewing Gum Lake.
