Sure, Y Meadows Reservoir is around here; you don’t have to go far from Chewing Gum Lake to spot the water at Y Meadows Dam. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go back home again. A day on the slopes of Dodge Ridge is just what you need; Lake Valley is right here at Chewing Gum Lake. That right there is a lot of enjoyable stuff       already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Bear Valley is in the vicinity of Chewing Gum Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Powell Lake. Chewing Gum Lake usually gets a good deal of rain; January is when you get the most snow here, and July on the other hand is the driest. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Chewing Gum Lake has to offer, you can                  camp at Dardanelles Campground, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Emigrant Trail, and you can stay the night at Herring Creek Campground. All through the long summer days highs here at Chewing Gum Lake reach the 60's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's.
