Devils Postpile National Monument is a tremendous national park, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Chapel Lake; Don Cecil Trail is a good local trail. Summertime highs at Chapel Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights       come with lows in the 20's to Chapel Lake. While you're here at Chapel Lake, you could also visit lovely Midway Lake, and the Sheep Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Chapel Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sabrina Campground is a tremendous spot for that, and the summit of Finger Peak can be observed from Chapel Lake. Stay the night at North Lake Campground, and why not take a refreshing                  hike along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section. Chapel Lake is a location that is relatively dried up typically; January is when you get the most rain here while June is mostly the driest month. All year is a nice time in the Central Sierra Nevada if you have a thing about the outdoors. Pearl Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out, and float down the rapids of Kings River - Middle Fork in a kayak. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Central Sierra Nevada. A pleasant spree to Crown Basin is a glorious way to spend an afternoon.
