But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend San Joaquin River - South Fork. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Mono Creek; a fine sight of picturesque Bear Creek Spire is available. Chalfant Lakes is frequently a relatively dry place; January is the month that gets the most rain, and June is the       month with the least moisture. Having a fine time in the Central Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated. Take a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and the skiing at Mammoth Mountain is great. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. And that's not all you can do here at Chalfant Lakes. Chalfant Lakes is good enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Inlet Campground is a good local campground, and you're possibly hooked on lakes, Birchim Lake is                  one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Chalfant Lakes is close to Italy Pass which is certainly worth visiting, and a tremendous spot like Granite Park here at Chalfant Lakes is too delightful to miss. There's so much to do here at Chalfant Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Mosquito Flat Campground is a great spot for that, and Devils Postpile National Monument is a perfect place close by. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Chalfant Lakes reach the 70's while night lows are usually in the 40's.
