Hiking is a popular thing to do around Catfish Pond; Crooked Tree Trail is a nice local trail, and you can run the rapids of Eel River. Be careful coming to Catfish Pond, you might not ever wanna go home again. Good hiking is available along the Milk Ranch Trail; Summit Spring is always fun to check out. The Klamath       Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Catfish Pond generally gets lots of rain; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. Catfish Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Mill Valley Campground is a good local campground, and you'll perhaps meet some folks from Clearlake here. Man, is there heaps of enjoyable stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains. You're in all probability into lakes, Blue Slides Lake is one of                  those close by; a perfect nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Upper Lake. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Catfish Pond sink into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful.
