     Skiing at Mount Shasta is one of those things you just must do; The Woodsman Hotel is a great site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Sacramento River offers some brilliant whitewater, and Heart Lake is a glorious lake nearby. Glide down the rapids of Sacramento River in a kayak, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Castle Lake Trail. Around Castle Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with  
   most of the rain is December, and the driest month is July.
There are plenty of folks from Redding here at Castle Lake, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail. While you're here at Castle Lake you can take a hike along the Crags Trail, and a pretty lake like Little Castle Lake is a fine place to take a look at. You think that's enough?                than a day at, Castle Lake Campground is a fine local campground, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Tree House Motor Inn is a pleasant choice.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Castle Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Castle Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort is always a splendid experience.

Beehive Campground

Beehive campground is pretty good, little rocky and if the water is down that can be a problem. The do have several outhouses there and it is easy to get to. Gregory Creek is better but has been closed for many years due to the eagles nesting. Invest in wasp traps! Bears are not to bad in the 3 years we have camped there only saw one and it was running from the lake. ...
