That right there is heaps of exciting things already but it goes on, the Santa Ynez Mountains has it all. One of the best things about Carpinteria Reservoir is its proximity to Rincon Beach; there are wonderful sites to look at along the Franklin Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to bump into some great folks from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura here; why not camp at Carpinteria Camper Park while you're here at Carpinteria Reservoir. Beaches are pleasant; and Oil Piers Beach close to Carpinteria Reservoir is no exception, and Channel Islands National Park is a great local destination. Carpinteria Reservoir gets very little rainfall; February is when you get the most rain here; July is when it's the driest. A spree to Rincon Point close to Carpinteria Reservoir is always a splendid idea; if you came for an overnight stay Alder Creek Campground is a wonderful location to camp. Carpinteria Reservoir beyond doubt is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Going for a hike on the Steer Creek Trail is always a splendid adventure, and if you yearn for a little side journey, try Sutton Canyon. Be careful coming to the Santa Ynez Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again.
