You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cardinal Lake has to offer, you can camp at Birch Campground. Cardinal Lake is pretty arid typically; throughout the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest
of the months is June. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Bishop is a great spot to spend a night or two; the peak of Cardinal Mountain can be observed from Cardinal Lake. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable things
to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Super 8 Bishop is a good site to get some rest; do have a look at Red Lake, it's a wonderful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Kings River Trail, and do set aside some time for Upper Basin if you're here at Cardinal Lake. This lake is so wonderful.

Sabrina Campground
 | 17 miles away I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |
