This site, the Northern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors fun stuff. A splendid close by hotel is Pine Cone Acre Motel, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sierra at Tahoe. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork, and Caples Lake is right by the Hawley Grade Trail. Visit       Kirkwood Creek since you're here at Caples Lake, and camping at Caples Lake Campground is always a great experience. While you're here at Caples Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Gardnerville Ranchos, and after a long day outdoors Best Tahoe West Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop at Kirkwood Lake near Caples Lake, it's a stunning                  lake, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Emigrant Trail. Caples Lake gets a great deal of water; January is the wettest month with most snow; July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Mokelumne River - North Fork is a magnificent whitewater spot close to Caples Lake, and perfect skiing awaits you at Kirkwood. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Caples Lake. A perfect place like Kirkwood Meadows here at Caples Lake is too good to miss; a brilliant place to camp here at Caples Lake is Kirwood Campground. So much cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Two Sentinels is simple to spot from Caples Lake; do take a hike on the Charity Valley Trail. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Caples Lake get into the 70's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's while Caples Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
