     The beauty of Cape Lake attracts many people from all around. And if that's not enough there's a lot more exciting things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Getting to Lavassi Creek from Cape Lake is easy, and the peak of Bald Eagle Mountain can be distinguished from Cape Lake. From a rain point of view Cape Lake is a reasonably typical location; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest month is July.
Now, you may think that's a load
 
   but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike along the Cleghorn Bar Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; why not camp at Sundew Campground since you're here at Cape Lake. While you're here at Cape Lake you can take a hike along the Claremont Trail, and if you're here, you could also explore pretty Dry Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Have a great hiking adventure along the Yellow  
               Creek Trail; needless to say, A trip to Pat Maloy Ravine is always fun.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Bailey Creek Cottages is a perfect choice, and in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Feather River - North Fork. Cape Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A good close by hotel is Best Western Rose Quartz, and no need to travel far to stop at interesting stuff like Chucks Rock.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Cape Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Cape Lake. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Cape Lake. Sandy Point Campground is a tremendous local campground, and Mud Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at.

Cool Springs Campground is owned by PG&E and managed by American Land and Leisure (AL&L). You may contact AL&L, at 530-284-1785, from May to October. No reservations are taken for camping. Cool Springs is generally open from early May through mid-September. The heaviest use is between mid-June through mid-August. Butt Lake is a great fishing lake. Motorboats are allowed but no skiing or jet skis. There is a nice rock\sand beach for playing....
