Lake Perris State Recreation Area
 | I am the Parks Department's research writer, and my job is to write the brochure text for each park in our system. Lake Perris State Recreation Area (SRA) is the only name of the park. There is no Lake Perris State Park. The SRA is so large that it is easy to think that it comes in more than one segment. When you are at Lake Perris SRA you are visiting one of the system's most popular parks. Visitors drive for long distances to enjoy the lake and campgrounds, and to visit the Indian Museum. Local residents love to take advantage of their proximity to this park, and it is true that Perris residents are among our many visitors. Perris Beach is part of Lake Perris SRA, so if you are at Perris Beach that is because you are at Lake Perris SRA. Perris Beach is not a separate entity from Lake Perris SRA. It is only one feature of it.... |

Indian Oaks Trailer Ranch
 | 19 miles away ...ake. Very quaint, unfortunately it was about 113 degrees with a fair amount of humidity and we didn't feel very motivated to enjoy the outdoor seating, which was your only option.
The park itself is aging and the wiring is there to prove it. No apparent upgrades were evident. We experienced outages daily and had to rely on our generator, which added about an additional 65 dollars in gas to stay at what was supposed to be a full hookup facility. California gas prices were at $3.59 a gallon. Ouch. While the manager tried to explain there were surges throughout the town, some of the local year-round residents who were hard wired, reported no problems. We had a family staying next to us in an Allegro Bus who really struggled with the electrical issues. Their breaker simply couldn't handle the load. Every time he flipped the breaker back on it interupted our electricity. Several visitors left early because of the heat and unreliability of electrical services throughout the day.
The sites sizes aren't terribly generous. If the family next to us hadn't reserved two... |
