In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Feather River - North Fork, and you can observe Mount Hope from Campbell Lake. A good location to camp here at Campbell Lake is Injun Jim Campground; after                  a long day outdoors Best Western Rose Quartz Inn is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. If you get bored of Campbell Lake, you could also check out nearby Long Lake; nearby you hit upon the Carter Meadow Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is unbeatable! Going for a hike on the Lassen Trail is always a splendid adventure; whitewater paddling is pleasant on Feather River - North Fork. Summertime highs at Campbell Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 40's.
