You might want to pay a visit to Pine Valley if you're here at Camp Lake, naturally you could also visit Bear Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. If you adore the outdoors, you'll go for Camp Lake. The slopes of Bear Valley are so inviting nobody can resist, and why not camp at Mill Campground while you're here at Camp Lake. All year is a great time in the Central Sierra Nevada if you go for the outdoors. Here at       Camp Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge, and going for a hike along the Emigrant Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Central Sierra Nevada. A great location for whitewater paddling near Camp Lake is Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and you can run the rapids of Cherry Creek - West Fork. Camping is available at Herring Creek Campground, and the view of beautiful                  Burst Rock is good. The high level of rain makes Camp Lake a reasonably wet site; through the month of January you get the most snow around here; the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. Dodge Ridge is a perfect local ski area, and dry warm beds await you at Best Value Yosemite Westgate Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. For the period of the long summer days, highs usually are in the 60's at Camp Lake. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's.
