Places like McNair Meadow are magnificent to explore. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Calpine Reservoir; January is the wettest month with most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. You just should have a thing about the Northern Sierra Nevada. A wonderful spot for whitewater paddling close to Calpine Reservoir is Fordyce Creek, and everyone nearby       loves skiing at Royal Gorge. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Calpine Reservoir called the Cottonwood Overlook Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Soda Springs is a delightful site to do that. Camping is available at Lincoln Creek Campground, and a beautiful lake like Deadman Lake is a fine place to go to. Man, is there loads of fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Yuba River - South Fork is a glorious whitewater spot close to Calpine                  Reservoir, and if you need a site to stay Chalet View Lodge is a pleasant choice. Through the summertime at Calpine Reservoir temperatures are usually in the 90's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows during the wintertime for Calpine Reservoir tend to be in the 20's.
