If you are traveling by, why not stop by Buzzard Lake. Lots of rain falls at Buzzard Lake; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. Why not camp at Spring Flat Campground if you're here at Buzzard Lake, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Tanners Peak Trail. Through the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 90's at Buzzard Lake while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter brings

| | highs down to the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Buzzard Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Salmon River offers some tremendous whitewater, and the Deacon Lee Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Klamath Mountains has to offer. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Angel Lake, and on a great day | |

you can take a hike along the Garden Gulch Trail. Man, is there a heap of entertaining stuff to do next to Buzzard Lake. After a long day outdoors Baymont Inn Yreka is a fine place to spend a night or two.
This lake is one of
the great places here in the Klamath Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Scott River; camping is available at Indian Scotty Campground.
