But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. Why not camp at Butte Creek Campground while you're here at Butte Lake, and don't forget to take a tremendous little tour to Butte Creek. Around Butte Lake you don’t       get a lot of rainfall; all through January this area sees the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. If you want to have a look at some attention-grabbing stuff, have a look at Fantastic Lava Beds, and close by you hit upon the Childs Meadows Trail which is a perfect hiking trail.
