The winter comes with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows at Butt Valley Reservoir during the winter commonly fall into the 10's. If the weather is great here at Butt Valley Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Cleghorn Bar Trail, and nearby Barker Gulch is a great place       to go. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna go back home again. There's whitewater on Feather River - North Fork for all you adrenaline people; going for a hike along the Claremont Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. The amount of precipitation that falls at Butt Valley Reservoir is close to the national average; most of the snow falls through January, and July is the month with the least moisture.                  Visit Benner Creek while you're here at Butt Valley Reservoir, and a magnificent close by hotel is Bailey Creek Cottages. Butt Valley Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. That right there is loads of amusing things already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Cool Springs Campground is a nice local campground, and if you have time, Lassen Volcanic National Park is a national park worth visiting.
