Burnside Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Kit Carson Campground is a glorious local campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Carson River - East Fork. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A brilliant site to camp here at Burnside Lake is Snowshoe Springs Campground; Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a delightful place to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern                  Sierra Nevada. For the duration of the warm months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Burnside Lake; the night is somewhat colder of course, frequently in the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Burnside Lake. Really tremendous skiing awaits you at Heavenly, and the Charity Valley Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Lost Lakes near Burnside Lake, it's a scenic lake; going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is always a delightful adventure. If you come at the right time of year, Carson River - East Fork offers some great whitewater, and there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Burnside Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A good vista of striking Hawkins Peak is available from Burnside Lake, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Kirkwood.
