     The beauty of Burnside Lake attracts many people from all around. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is excellent! The sight of pretty Hawkins Peak near Burnside Lake is perfect, and why not head up to Kirkwood and strap some skis to your feet. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. There is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Burnside Lake called  
   the Burnside Lake Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Charity Valley Creek.
Snowshoe Springs Campground is a pleasant local campground, and the snow is pleasant at Heavenly. Going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is always a wonderful adventure; whitewater paddling is perfect on Carson River - East Fork. If only every place had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great planet it would be. While you're here at
 
               Burnside Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Gardnerville Ranchos, and get dripping wet paddling on Carson River - East Fork.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Kit Carson Campground since you're here at Burnside Lake; dry warm beds await you at Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley. High temperatures at Burnside Lake during the summer are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's with temperatures at Burnside Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Burnside Lake regularly gets a lot of rain; January is when you get the most snow here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Tahoe Seasons Resort (Vri) is a good choice; on a good day you can take a hike along the Charity Valley Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada.
