Sure, Hell Hole Reservoir is in close proximity, and do take a hike on the McKinstry Trail. That right there is plenty of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. If you come at the right time of year, Rubicon River offers some splendid whitewater, and you could always explore Barts Valley. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Bunker       Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hell Hole-In Campground is a wonderful spot for that, and not far from Bunker Lake you'll stumble on Hell Hole Reservoir which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Bunker Hill is a peak you can observe from Bunker Lake, and the skiing at Alpine Meadows is brilliant. If only every spot had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great world it would be. Squaw Valley is a tremendous local ski area, and hiking                  along the Dry Lakes Trail is wonderful fun. All through the summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Bunker Lake, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, usually in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Bunker Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do right next door to Bunker Lake. Glide down the rapids of Silver Creek - South Fork in a kayak. Bunker Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you came to camp Hell Hole Campground is a great spot to do that, and if you need a location to stay Squaw Valley Lodge is a great choice. Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn is a wonderful spot to get some rest, and a spree to Joes Spring will fill your soul with tremendous feelings.
