So many entertaining things in the Central Sierra Nevada, just mind-blowing. Camping at Voyager Rock Campground is always a great experience; Blackcap Mountain is beautiful and can be made out from here. The John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section offers hiking at its best; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Kings River - Middle Fork. Bullet Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Lower Blayney Campground is a good local campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Schoolmarm Lake. Good hiking is available along the Don Cecil Trail, and Bench Valley is another magnificent site to visit nearby. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Bullet Lake. Hiking | |

Sabrina Campground
14 miles away I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories....
Bear Twin Lakes
15 miles away Great place to visit! A must see for all families and tourists! The awe and marvel at the beauty of the lake is indescribable! My family had an awsome experience and Joey, Anisa, and Diana ( my children) all would love to go back! Bear Twin Lakes is not a place to miss! Just watch out for the occasional black bear!...
Jackass's Meadows Campground
15 miles away I've been to the campground and it is a great area; however, it is NOT an arid environment as the description says.? It is located at over 7000 feet in a forested area.? In addition, there is NO access to Devils Postpile (or the Mammoth area, as is implied by the lodging links). The campground is located at the end of the road and there is no road pass over the Sierra anywhere in this area. This campground is seasonal and is snowed in completely in the winter. ...
Big Trees Campground
17 miles away The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up....
