This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Minnow Lake, and after a long day outdoors dnc -- Wawona Hotel is a delightful spot to spend a night or two. That right there is loads of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. A delightful site       next to Buena Vista Lake is Buena Vista Pass, and do take a hike on the Mono Meadow Trail. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Central Sierra Nevada. Mount Bruce is clearly visible from Buena Vista Lake, and hiking along the Buena Vista Trail is wonderful fun. Buena Vista Lake mostly gets a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.                  And that's not all you can do here at Buena Vista Lake. Why not camp at Bridalveil Campground since you're here at Buena Vista Lake; if you get bored of Buena Vista Lake you could also check out close by Windy Lake. Summertime highs at Buena Vista Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 40's while Buena Vista Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Badger Pass, and Upper Pines Campground is a tremendous local campground. Drift down the rapids of Big Creek in a kayak. If you haven’t been to Yosemite National Park, you must schedule some time for it since you're here, and get soaked paddling on Merced River - South Fork.
