Gibralter Lake , Jameson Reservoir yes or was it remaned?? - My maiden name is Cottam I was born & raised in Santa Barbara- Cottam Flat / Campground was named after my father who packed people over to Blue Canyon where at one time he had built a cabin there. Can someone contact me...as I am planning a family reunion and we will be hiking into Blue Canyon and will pass thru Cottam camprgound - I am assuming thea is the same location as Cottam Flats. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Santa Ynez Mountains. Buell Reservoir is not the only place nearby, Ortega Reservoir is a nearby lake; a tour to Channel Islands National Park is worthwhile. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Buell Reservoir. East Beach is close to Buell Reservoir if you're in a beach type of mood, and you might       also want to pay a visit to Oil Canyon while you're here at Buell Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Romero Trail, and camping at Buell Reservoir is brilliant fun, Carpinteria Camper Park is a brilliant local campground. A wonderful nearby hotel is Sandyland Reef Inn, and Ortega Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. Buell Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Santa Ynez Mountains.; of all the months                  in a year February is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. For the duration of the summertime here at Buell Reservoir, high temperatures commonly get into the 90's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, commonly in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Buell Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Garrapata Creek is in the vicinity of Buell Reservoir and is always a pleasure to explore; why not take a look at Loon Point also if you're here. Hiking along the San Ysidro Trail is splendid fun, and if you came for an overnight stay Upper Blue Canyon Campground is a fine location to camp. All year is a fine time in the Santa Ynez Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors.
