A good spot for whitewater paddling near Budd Lake is Tuolumne River, and there are great spots to discover along the John Muir Trail - section 1. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. You can run the rapids of Tenaya Creek close to Budd Lake; don't leave Budd Lake without first going for a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail. There are other locations       here than Budd Lake, for example Echo Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Clouds Rest Trail. Budd Lake gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not go to Matthes Lake close to Budd Lake, and if you need a site to stay The Ahwahnee is a delightful choice. The slopes of Badger Pass are so inviting noone can resist.
