A visit to Buckhorn Lake is always a good idea. The Pacific Crest Trail - section 17 offers hiking at its best; Pit River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range, not enough time. Some of the water close by flows, like Hunt Creek; hiking is a popular thing to do around Buckhorn Lake; Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail is a delightful local trail. | | wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. But wait, there's more to do near Buckhorn Lake. Why not camp at Old Cow Creek Campground while you're here at Buckhorn Lake, and paddling on Pit River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Lassen Volcanic National Park is a tremendous place near Buckhorn Lake. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Southern Cascade Range. | |

Clover Creek Springs is a gorgeous location to pop by while you're at Buckhorn Lake, and there's tremendous hiking along the Bunchgrass Trail. Buckhorn Lake is located in the Southern Cascade Range. Miller Mountain is a peak you
can see from Buckhorn Lake, and Seven Lakes is a good lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Cutter Place Campground is a brilliant location to camp, and lakes are such serene places, why not stop
at Blue Lake. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Buckhorn Lake get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Buckhorn Lake.
