This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail, and Buck Mountain Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Eel River Campground is a great local campground. Not far from Buck Mountain Lake, you'll hit upon Lowrey Lake which is a scenic lake; a fine location to camp here at Buck Mountain Lake is Boardman Ridge Campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges. So many enjoyable things

| | in close proximity to Buck Mountain Lake, absolutely impressive. The Willow Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you yearn for a little side trip, try Brin Canyon. All the water falling down from the sky makes Buck Mountain Lake a wet site; December is when you get the most rain here; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
