This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. High temperatures at Buck Lake through the summer are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the winter highs are regularly in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Buck Lake. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go       whitewater paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork; the slopes of Homewood are so inviting nobody can resist. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Resort At Squaw Creek is a pleasant site to spend a night or two, and you can hit the beach if you want, Calawee Cove Beach is practically right here. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area near Buck Lake has to offer. What would winter be without some skiing at Alpine                  Meadows; Lester Beach is reasonably close by if you're in a beach type of mood. And if that's not enough there's lots more fun stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Buck Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Meeks Bay Resort & Marina is a tremendous location to camp nearby, and a wonderful close by hotel is Pepper Tree Inn. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail near Buck Lake called the Big Spring Trail. Lakes are glorious; Miller Lake is a lake that's next to Buck Lake. General Creek Campground is a magnificent local campground; American River - South Fork is a great whitewater spot close by. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Lily Lake is one of those nearby, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 14 is a perfect hiking trail nearby. And that's not all you can do here at Buck Lake. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Buck Lake; January is the month that gets the most snow; July on the other hand is the driest.
